AT THE STATE CAPITOL

The Parent Action Team was established to give a voice to public school parents at our State Capitol.  The Parent Action Team was founded in 2008 by Gladys Hardnett, Liz Smith and Vernetta Keith Nuriddin.  Since its inception, we have over 150 parents, community advocates and concerned citizens who are proud to be a part of this dynamic team of parent advocates.  During the 2010 session of the Georgia General Assembly, we had our first annual Parent Action Day at the Capitol.  We had over a hundred and fifty parents, community leaders, public school administrators, parent liaisons, parent mentors and school board members to attend this annual event.
